about Anuradha Kuber

Anuradha Kuber; born on the 16th of March in 1972, is a well-known vocalist of the current generation.

She has undergone 15 years of rigorous training under the guidance of veteran musician, Guru Pt. T.D. Janorikar, one of the few foremost exponents of Bhendi-Bazaar Gharana. During the training, she learnt the facets of the gaayaki from her Guru.

Since 2007, she has continued learning under the able guidance of veteran harmonium maestro and musicologist Dr. Arawind Thatte, she has been awarded the ‘A’ grade for Classical music and ‘A-Top’ grade for light and popular music by the All India Radio.

  • Gaanhira Award, C. Ramachandra Award, and Smt. Mokashi Award, for having topped the Master’s Degree examinations in Music from S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai.

Anuradha has been the recipient of the Central Government Scholarship and Fellowship for two years each, awarded by the H.R.D. Ministry and Ministry of Culture, New Delhi. She was also awarded the Madhav Shankar Karve Scholarship (London) for one year.

  •  Topped the Advanced Diploma in French language from Alliance Françoise, Pune.


♫ Light & Popular Music (Sugam Sangeet)

  •  Anuradha is awarded the ‘A-Top’ grade in Sugam Sangeet by All India Radio.


  •  She has been ssociated with veterans like Shri. Gajananrao Watve, Smt. Anuradha Marathe, Shri. Anand Modak, and Shri. Ashok Patki, to name a few. She also performed at the centenary celebrations of veteran singer G.N Joshi


  •  Anuradha has performed in many prestigious Marathi light music concerts, including ‘Akhil Bharatiya Sugam Sangeet Sammelan’, ‘Shukratara’, ‘Omkar swaroopa’, and ‘Phite Andharache Jaale’, and also performed in two television programmes on E TV Marathi, ‘Prabhat Geete’ and ‘Garaje Krishna Teer’.


  •  She has also worked with the next generation of music composers like Dr. Chaitanya Kunte, Narendra Bhide, Raja Phatak, and Jeevan–Rohit.


  •  She has sung for a Marathi Gazal album ‘Sobaticha Karar’, and a Marathi Bhaaw Geet Album ‘Akash Mogara’, composed by Dr. Chaitanya Kunte.



  •  Anuradha’s gazal ‘Maaze tuze’ for the movie ‘Muramba’ (released in 2017) has become very popular amongst all audiences. She was awarded the Radio Mirchi Best Female Vocalist Award and the Filmfare Best Female Vocalist Award in 2018 for this song.

Anuradha has been associated with many creative music projects and programmes, like 

  • Suran Gao Saras A concert of bandish-s in Khayal, Thumri, Tappa, Chatarang by Dr. Chaitanya Kunte.

  •  Bandish A programme based on the compositions of Dr. Prabha Atre and Dr. Ashwini Bhide.

  •  Saaz Thumricha This programme presents the Thumri in the traditional style but with Marathi lyrics.

  •  Manarangache Abhal Presenting the poetry of great Marathi poets set to tune by Dr. Chaitanya Kunte.

  •  Ramdas Padavali A programme based on the devotional composition of Samartha Ramdas.

  •  Aakaashwedi A programme based on the life and work of the renowned poetess Padma Gole

  •  Rasiya A garland of northern Hindustani semi classical music compositions


In addition to her exemplary career as a performing artist, Anuradha is the Founder of “Raag-Maalaa” her music school where she has been teaching the nuances of Indian Classical Music to aspiring students for more than a decade. She also teaches through online music schools.
